Domain Transfer Agreement

Transfers-in, transfers-out, and change of registrar rules

Overview

This agreement applies when you request to transfer a domain name into or out of GetOn. Transfers are subject to Registry and ICANN policies and may vary by TLD.

Transfer In (to GetOn)

  1. You must have authorization to transfer the domain and provide a valid authorization code (if required by the TLD).
  2. You must ensure the registrant email and contact data are current to receive confirmation requests.
  3. Some transfers add a renewal term; some ccTLDs differ. We’ll display the expected outcome where available.

Transfer Out (from GetOn)

  1. You can request the domain’s transfer authorization code and unlock status in your account, subject to restrictions below.
  2. We may deny or delay a transfer-out if required by policy (e.g., fraud, dispute, court order, non-payment, or Registry lock).
  3. Transfers are completed by the gaining registrar/registry process; timelines vary by TLD.

Locks & Restrictions

  • Many gTLDs have a transfer lock for a period after registration or certain changes (commonly 60 days).
  • Domains may be locked during disputes (UDRP/URS), chargebacks, fraud investigations, or by Registry policy.
  • If a transfer would breach policy or applicable law, we may refuse it.

Authorization & Security

You are responsible for keeping your account secure. We may require additional verification for transfer-related actions, including 2FA or identity checks.

See: Two‑Factor Authentication Terms.

Fees & Refunds

Transfer fees (including any renewal term) are generally non-refundable once a transfer request is submitted to the Registry, except where required by law.

Disputes

Transfers are subject to ICANN and Registry dispute rules. UDRP and other applicable dispute policies apply.
